Early in the morning, before most of the bar is awake, a tiny time traveler visits the kitchen. She would stay at home for a late-night snack, usually, but...

Well.

Ace already knows way too much about the Wells' romantic life, and about one picosecond downstairs at the farm let her know that sticking around would only teach her more. And since Bar was getting a break in the quiet hours of the night, Ace decides to fetch a snack herself. It's really too bad she left her current project on top of the microwave when she left.

"Well, you see, it's not as easy as going 'yay, souffle'... well, actually, that's pretty much the whole plan, but you have to make it a flavor first, and there's all sorts of flavors." Oswin explain, her nerves translating to babble as she leads them into the kitchen.

Autor finishes with his eggs, and brings them to the mixer. He attaches the bowl to the mixer's base and turns it on to whip them into submission.

He turns it off when the egg whites are fluffy and stiff, and peak when he lifts the whisk. "We can. It starts with sourdough, I believe. How's that base coming?"

Autor could be smug and say, "of course they do," but he's never whipped eggs before, and he's glad they look good. He's even gladder that she said it.

"Okay," he says, and detaches the bowl from the mixer to carry it over to her. "So how do we fold this in? Carefully, I assume?"

The spatula is an offensive shade of neon chartreuse. Autor thinks she did it on purpose. Still, he doesn't mind using puke-green spatualas as long as they get the job done.

He drops the egg whites in with a bit of the base and folds them over as instructed, blending them in. "Like this?"

Autor makes good use of his snot-colored, yellow-green spatula. Soon, he presents to her a filled baking dish of soufflé batter.

"We've preheated the oven, right?" he asks, carrying it over there. "How long do we put it in for?"
