Early in the morning, before most of the bar is awake, a tiny time traveler visits the kitchen. She would stay at home for a late-night snack, usually, but...

Well.

Ace already knows way too much about the Wells' romantic life, and about one picosecond downstairs at the farm let her know that sticking around would only teach her more. And since Bar was getting a break in the quiet hours of the night, Ace decides to fetch a snack herself. It's really too bad she left her current project on top of the microwave when she left.

"Well, you see, it's not as easy as going 'yay, souffle'... well, actually, that's pretty much the whole plan, but you have to make it a flavor first, and there's all sorts of flavors." Oswin explain, her nerves translating to babble as she leads them into the kitchen.

Seeing the grimace on her face, the fear, Autor turns the heat off the burner immediately. "Oswin," he calls as he approaches. He doesn't touch her, but he does wave once he's close. "Are you all right?"

She can hear him, but distantly, like he's a long way aways (or just a memory).

It's a dream, Oswin, a dream you made for yourself...

She's run into this before, the crippling sense of unreality that makes it impossible to trust anything. She knows that sometimes its the feeling that's not real, not the things, but...

Right now she's not sure. She's not sure, and she's scrabbling for a way to be sure.

The boy has seen her do this before, but still doesn't know what's happening, what she's going through. He hovers--but not too close--hoping he can bring her back from whatever she's going through just by being there. "Oswin?" he calls softly. "Oswin? It's me, Autor. We're in Milliways, and everything's okay."
